NOTE:Each paper shall be of one-hour duration and the examination in all the three papers shall be held on the same day. The syllabus for the preliminary examination shall be the same as provided for Papers I to III for the Main examination. |
MAINS EXAMINATION
- PAPER I (CIVIL LAW I) – 200 Marks
– Code of Civil Procedure, Indian Evidence Act, Indian Stamp Act, Himachal Pradesh Courts Act, Specific Relief Act - PAPER II (CIVIL LAW II) – 200 Marks
– Indian Contract Act, Hindu Law, Indian Limitation Act, Transfer of Property Act, H.P. Urban Rent Control Act. - PAPER III (CRIMINAL LAW) – 200 Marks
– Indian Penal Code, Criminal Procedure Code, Negotiable Instruments Act, H.P. Excise Act, Wild Life Protection Act, Indian Forest Act. - PAPER IV (ENGLISH COMPOSITION) – 150 Marks
– Essay (100 Marks), Translation of Hindi passage into English (50 Marks) - PAPER V (HINDI) – 100 Marks
– Essay (50 Marks), Translation of English passage into Hindi (30 Marks), Idioms and Corrections (20 Marks)
NOTE: Minimum marks required – 35% marks in each law paper & 40% marks in aggregate (General); 30% marks in each law paper & 35% marks in aggregate (Reserved)
VIVA-VOICE: 35 Marks
Minimum marks required – 40% (General); 35% (Reserved) in aggregate of the marks secured in the main examination and viva-voice for selection as Civil Judge/Judicial Magistrate
